FSEOG is a campus-based Programs are administered directly by the Financial Aid Office. The amount of aid received is based on certain factors, such as students financial need, the amount of other aid received, and the availability of funds. Fullerton College receives a certain amount of funds each year from the federal government. When the funds are expended, no additional awards are awarded for the school year.

FSEOG is a Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant that does NOT have to be repaid. It is offered to students with the highest amount of unmet need. Priority is given to Federal Pell Grant recipients. Funds are limited…APPLY EARLY!

TIP: Be aware of the deadline dates for applying to the various programs.

Federal Work-Study

The Federal Work Study Program (FWS) is a grant providing students with the opportunity to earn additional money, while working on or off campus. In addition to the money earned from FWS, students gain valuable experience, in most cases, in the field of their choice.

How quickly the grant is expended, depends on the number of hours worked each week, and the hourly rate of pay. How much the student earns per hour depends highly on the skills possessed by the student and the skills required. Additionally, the FWS administrator will review the student’s class schedule and unmet financial need prior to the FWS assignment.

Another benefit to FWS, is that while the money earned is reported as income to the IRS, it is NOT considered as income on the FAFSA application.

In order to be considered for Federal Work Study, students must comply with the following requirements:

  • Step 1: Students should complete and submit a FAFSA
  • Step 2: Students should complete their financial aid file by June 30, 2024.

Funds are extremely limited for Federal Work Study, so it is imperative that you submit your FAFSA early, respond quickly to any request for more information and/or corrections, and meet the SAP policy.
