Board of Governor Fee Waiver (BOGFW)

    Students who are California residents may qualify for a fee waiver.  Fee Waivers are exclusive to community colleges.  If you qualify for a Fee Waiver, your tuition is waived and a portion of the parking permit fee.  No minimum number of units are requiredApplications are available on-line, at the Financial Aid/Veteran Services Office and in the class schedule. 

     NOTE:  Fee Waivers for Summer term and Cypress College courses are not given automatically.  It is the student's responsibility to notify the Financial Aid/Veteran Services Office of Summer/Cypress enrollment.  Failure to notify the Financial Aid Office will result in being dropped from classes for non-payment. 

 

FAFSA  "Free Application for Federal  Student Aid"

     Once you have completed the FAFSA process and your financial need has been established, the following programs may be available to you: 

    Pell Grant Federal grant.  Financial aid you do NOT have to repay.  IT’S FREE MONEY!

   Cal Grant State grant. Financial aid you do NOT have to repay.  IT’S FREE MONEY!

   Federal Work-Study An employment program that allows students to earn money working on/off campus, as well as valuable experience.  The money earned does NOT need to be repaid and does NOT count as income in the FAFSA application!

   SEOG A campus-based program.  IT’S FREE MONEY!  Due to limited funds, this grant is available on a first-come/first-served basis and is awarded to students with the highest amount of unmet need. 

  Student Loans Borrowed dollars that MUST BE REPAID WITH INTEREST.      

  Veteran Services A program for veterans, service members, and their survivors and dependents.  Students may apply for veteran educational benefits through the Financial Aid/Veteran Services Office.  Veteran benefits may impact financial aid assistance.  Please see the Financial Aid Veteran Coordinator.
