Students must go online to www.fafsa.ed.gov and submit a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid which is the basis for all financial aid. The student should indicate Fullerton College as one of their preferred schools, which insures that our school will receive the electronic FAFSA information in about two weeks. If a parent signature is required, the student should make sure to submit it ASAP so as not to delay the two week turn-around period. Once Financial Aid receives the student's information electronically, a process is run to assess what information our office will require in order to create the student's financial aid file. A letter will be mailed to the student informing them about which forms and documents will  be required by the Financial Aid Office.  The student will bring the paperwork to the Financial Aid Office for their file to be completed. Once the student turns in their paperwork, they will receive an award letter relaying the information about their award and payment dates if eligible.

Fee Waivers may be awarded based on the FAFSA information received, however, the student can go to MyGateway on the Fullerton College website, click on Webstar  and hit the financial aid button in order to access the Board of Governor's Fee Waiver Application. If eligible, this will go on the student's record immediately. Activation of the fee waiver may require a signature or documentation to be submitted to the Financial Aid Office. Students must follow the instructions carefully in order to insure that the enrollment fees will be paid. If the student does not qualify through this process, they may still qualify for a fee waiver through the FAFSA, which takes more information into account than just income and household size. Students should make sure to address their fees within the 72 hour allotted period after registration.

TIP:  You MUST reapply each year.  Also, if you change schools, your aid does not automatically transfer with you.  Check with your new school to find out what you must do to continue receiving aid.
