Background AB1765 was approved by Governor Davis to augment the Board Financial Assistance Program and significantly increase on-going funds for the purpose of Financial Aid administration and outreach. The outreach efforts include prospective community college students from local feeder high schools, as well as continuing Fullerton College students. Outreach Plan The outreach plan includes presentations in English, Spanish and Vietnamese to students and parents regarding financial aid; workshops on completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); hands-on workshops, which include the completion and submission of FAFSA; one-on-one assistance; staff training; on campus classroom presentations; and, information booths.
Outreach efforts have resulted in over 2970 contacts, with eighty percent of the high school student contacts resulting in the completion and submission of FAFSA applications.
NOTE Students requiring assistance with the completion and/or submission of their FAFSA application are encouraged to contact the Financial Aid Office.
ADDITIONAL BFAP BENEFITS The Director of Financial Aid has extended the benefits of BFAP funds to include computers throughout Fullerton College campus, including EOPS, Adaptive Services, Admissions and Records, and the Counseling Department; computers to local feeder high schools; software to Fullerton College Adaptive Services; and, funding assistance to campus based outreach efforts, including Early Commitment.
